The Aprilaire 401 is a 16 x 25 x 6 inch MERV 13 (also sold MERV 10) media filter that fits Aprilaire 2400 and Space-Gard 2400 media air cleaners.
The six-inch media for the 16-wide Aprilaire 2400 cabinet. It is the 16 by 25 counterpart of the 201, not interchangeable with it because the 201 is 20 wide.
Its actual size is about 16 x 25 x 6 in, so a filter labelled for the same nominal size but built to a different depth will not seal in the cabinet.
